Tig Tag is educator access only; for Grades 3-6 teachers of Focused ED member schools/districts.

 

4Canoes (Canoe Kids)

4Canoes is about cultures, equity, and the environment. The full colour interactive publications focus on empowerment and authentic Indigenous voices.  This session will overview the publications that are available in the BC Digital Classroom collection. Identify how curriculum connections can be made and how this might be part of your classroom both F2F and virtual.

 

GALE “InContext” Suite (Canada, Global Issues, Science)

May 13, 2020    |    2 – 3 PM

These three databases work well to support the redesigned BC curriculum at the grade 8-12 level, and for cross-curricular topics.  We will investigate tips, tricks, Lexile reading level search functions, and the “on demand” text and voice translations with the intention of supporting diverse learners in the classroom.

 

Early World of Learning – Primary

May 14, 2020    |    2 – 3 PM

WorldBook Early World of Learning offers rich resources designed for easy integration into the classroom curriculum.  Early Learning is enhanced for non and beginning readers using visual and auditory prompts. BC Curriculum Correlations are available for nonfiction content. Stories can be leveraged as a progressive, guided reading program for reading practice.
